| A. | Yes, Len Scaduto Driving School is licensed by the Illinois Secretary of State's office. |
| Q. | Are the students fully insured when driving Len Scaduto Driving School cars? |
| A. | Yes, students are fully insured during instruction with our instructors in our vehicles. |
| Q. | Does the instructor have the ability to control the car if a student driver is behind the wheel? |
| A. | Yes, all the Len Scaduto Driving School cars include dual controls, allowing the instructor to step in if necessary. |
| Q. | Will I get a copy of the Illinois Rules of the Road? |
| A. | Yes, all students will receive a copy. An online version is also available at: The Illinois Secretary Of State Web Site. |
| Q. | At what age can I start Drivers Education? |
| A. | The student must turn 15 before completion of the classroom phase of the course. The student must obtain written documentation stating that he/she has received a passing grade in at least 8 courses during the previous 2 semesters (Drivers Education Approval Form). |
| Q. | Do you provide transportation for Drivers Education? |
| A. | Len Scaduto Driving School, Inc. offers FREE home pick-up and drop-off services for the behind the wheel phase of the course (within selected areas). We have instructors available for lessons 7 days per week, 7:00a.m. – 9:00p.m. |
| Q. | When can I get my permit? |
| A. | Students may obtain a permit once they are 15 years of age, have enrolled in a drivers' education program and completed four hours of classroom instruction. Students will need to go to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to take their permit test. |
| Q. | What do I need to bring to the DMV to get my permit? |
| A. | - Proof of Name and Date of Birth – Certified copy of birth certificate or valid passport. (Hospital birth certificates or photocopies will not be accepted)
- Proof of Residency – School ID, transcript, bank statement or parent’s driver’s license.
- Proof of Enrollment in Drivers Education Class (Permit Application Form – proved by Len Scaduto Driving School, Inc.
- $20 fee (payable to the DMV)

| Q. | Where can I go to get my permit or license? |
| A. | Students will need to go to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to take their permit test. |
| Q. | When I get my permit, who can I drive with? |
| A. | Students may practice driving with one of their parents, a legal guardian or a responsible adult approved by their parents sitting in the front seat. This adult must be at least age 21, have a license for the type of vehicle you are driving, and have at least one year of driving. |
| Q. | When I have my permit, what other states may I drive in? |
| A. | You must follow the rules of having an Illinois permit and the state you are visiting! |
| Q. | What is the 50-Hour Practice Driving Log/Under 18 Applicant Form? |
| A. | Students who received their permit on or after June 22, 2006, are required, by state law, to log 50 behind-the-wheel hours with a parent/legal guardian. Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White 50-Hour Practice Driving Log/Under 18 Applicant. |
| Q. | Will I have homework? |
| A. | All classroom work is completed at Len Scaduto Driving School. |
| Q. | How many classes can I miss? |
| A. | Each student is allowed a maximum of four (4) absences before being dropped from the course and any missed classroom time must be made up to pass the course. Students are REQUIRED to turn in all work for any absences. It is the students responsibility to schedule make up classes with the office. |
| Q. | When is the first payment due? |
| A. | First payment of $100 is due on the first night of class. If you pay for the teen course in full on the first night, you save $10.00. |
| Q. | When is the final payment due? |
| A. | Final payment is due by the last night of class. |
| Q. | When do I start driving with an instructor? |
| A. | Students may be scheduled for a behind-the-wheel lesson after they attend a minimum of 4 hours of classroom instruction and obtain an instruction permit from the Secretary of State. Once they receive their permit, they schedule their lessons with our office. |
| Q. | When do I need to get insured? |
| A. | Insurance companies usually do not require insurance coverage until you are a licensed driver, though we recommend that you contact your insurance company for further details. |
| Q. | When am I eligible to get my Certificate of Completion (Blue Slip)? |
| A. | - All classroom instruction is completed, including all make-up work, final exam. (If your classroom was completed at another school, we would need documentation w/date completed, letter grade and signature of school official.)
- Tuition is paid in full.
- All behind-the-wheel and observation time is completed. (If your behind-the-wheel was completed at another school, we would need documentation w/date completed, letter grade and signature of school official)
- Once the above requirements are met, please allow two weeks for the blue slip request to be processed by the Secretary of State.

| Q. | What do I need to bring to the DMV to get my license? |
| A. | - Letter from the Secretary of State stating completion of a valid driver’s education program. (Certification of Completion)
- Instruction Permit
- 50 Hour Log Sheet with parent/guardian signature
- Proof of Name and Date of Birth - Automobile Insurance Card
- Proof of Residency – Automobile Registration
- Signed Social Security Card
